How to Cure Bad Breath When Nothing Else Seems to Work

A little known fact about bad breath (at least among those who do not personally suffer from the problem) is that brushing and flossing actually isn’t enough to put an end to it. Most people do not know this, but for people who suffer from chronic bad breath, it is all too true. I am a chronic bad breath sufferer myself, and I know from experience that brushing and flossing is not the key to getting rid of bad breath.

You’re going to want to pay attention, because my own experiences with overcoming my chronic bad breath have given me a personal insight into the problem that most people do not have.

The funny thing about bad breath is it is a condition that you can sort of “feel” that you have, even though most adults are too kind to tell you just how bad your breath really is. You can still tend to tell that others can sense it too though when you judge their reactions to you. Bad breath is a serious problem that has harsh effects on one’s social life.

If you’ve ever asked a dentist or sought out “professional” help with your halitosis, you’ve probably already realized that most people just don’t really have any useful advice to give in this area. On top of the lack of help being an issue, the misconceptions that the public have cause a lot of embarrassment for those who suffer from bad breath. If you have bad breath, people automatically assume that it is because you do not properly take care of yourself. Even your dentists are likely to think this!

Trust me, the reason your friends and family never seem to have to worry about their breath as much as you do has nothing to do with them taking better care of their mouth. The true cause of bad breath is not plaque on your teeth, but a sulfur producing bacteria that finds the climate in your mouth very hospitable.

This sulfur, created by the bacteria, is the cause of your bad breath. It “chooses” you because your mouth happens to be more hospitable to this bacteria than many other people’s mouths.

But if brushing and flossing does not work, then what will? That’s a valid question, because brushing and flossing is pretty much all that we’re really taught how to do when it comes to taking care of our mouths. The key to fresh breath is to bring the climate in your mouth closer to those who do not have to worry about their breath. Your goal is to create a pH balanced environment where these sulfur producing bacteria cannot thrive.

Don’t beat your head against the wall and give up on having fresh breath. Bad breath is entirely possible to cure, but if brushing and flossing isn’t enough for you then it takes a different approach, and a different mindset to succeed.
